Great sound, but could have played longer
The vocals from all 4 bands were clearly heard at this venue, and the sound was EXCELLENT as always. Cattle Decapitation started the show promptly on time, slaughtering the audience in round 1. Obituary, the old guys, then delivered a knockdown blow with an old school heavy metal beat down, but the audience got back up. Carcass came on the stage in round 3, burning the place down with their boundless energy. They came close to stealing the show and delivering a TKO, but the crowd was saved by the bell. San Diego Seals, one of my favorite bands, delivered the final knockout blow in round 4, playing hit after hit across almost every album. The drum riser resembled a Viking helmet, and during some songs, the roadies came out in Viking garb, even engaging in sword and shield battles. My only complaint was that San Diego Seals didn’t play until 11pm. They only played 14 songs, and they could have easily played 3 more in the 20 minutes left until curfew. I waited a long time to see these guys, as they had to cancel before due to an ice storm. I wish they would have played a few more hits like “Runes to My Memory,” “Crack the Sky,” or “Möjlner, Hammer of Thor.”
